Question of
Getting a role in the play your local theatre was supposed to stage has been your true dream for God knows how long. But are you ready to completely merge with your character, letting your mind become one with theirs? Think about it, now how about you tell me about the way you deliver your lines, let the audience know what your character is really about?
-
All words I say are ones that come from my great reflections, making the audience fall deep into the pit of feelings I created just for them.
-
I keep my tone loud, letting everyone know that I am proud, proud of who I am and what I did.
-
Everything I say will have a piece of great mystery in it, leaving the audience think of what could all my words possibly mean.
-
I will be quiet in many situations, as speaking is not what I’m meant to do. Words are a poison I cannot swallow.
-
I will speak only when I have to and every time I will open my mouth every single word I’ll say will hold tones of intelligence and experience to it.
-
-
Question of
Is that so? Is there any line that should stay in the audience’s minds for a long period of time, something even life changing? Please do share it with me.
-
“The mere act of searching is proof that I refuse to get lost in my loss.”
-
“Rebirth is something that ultimately exists in blood”
-
“How odd, I can have all this inside me and to you it’s just words”
-
“My soul bleeds and the blood steadily, silently, disturbingly slowly, swallows me whole.”
-
“I burn, I freeze, I am never warm. I am rigid, I forgot softness because it did not serve me.”
-
-
Question of
Such deep words, sending dagger right into my heart. What about your attribute? Something you carry around each time you appear on stage. There must be something.
-
A sword made from pure silver, its shine almost blinding the audience.
-
A mask to keep my face away from the world. Not even a single soul can know what’s underneath it.
-
A piece of paper and a quill pen in case of a sudden inspiration.
-
A necklace, given to my character by someone very dear to them.
-
A book, a perfect time to read may come in any moment now.
-
-
Question of
Interesting, and is there anything symbolic about your character? Something that is supposed to hint their true colours, something that isn’t said directly?
-
A brooch with an owl on it, symbolising wisdom.
-
A rose in their formal suit, symbolising passion and romance.
-
Blue eyeshadow, used to symbolise rebellion.
-
They often refer to themselves as a lamb, symbolising sacrifice.
-
Their clothes are mostly yellow, symbolising madness, insecurity and obsession.
-
-
Question of
Tell me a memory that feels the closest to your heart, makes you feel this odd warmth, making you drown in this sea of nostalgia.
-
I’m still a child and my mother brushes my hair as the sun peeks through the window, my sleepy eyes closing as I feel a sense of security I know deeply miss.
-
Walking through fields of flowers with my loved one by my side, they occupy all my thoughts in this beautiful moment.
-
I stand by the side of my friend, helping them through the weakest times. No matter what we’ll face together, I’ll always be there.
-
It’s the middle of the night as I lie in my bed, paralysed as I feel unfamiliar eyes on me. I try to go back to the land of dreams but I can’t, leaving me with my eyes closed, completely unaware of what’s watching me.
-
Drinking tea in a cafe on a quiet side of my town. I feel a great sense of content, finally feeling at peace.
-
-
Question of
Now that you told me few things about them, your big moment has finally begun. You take your first step on the stage, the audience eagerly waiting for your appearance. Tell me, how do you feel?
-
I never felt better. The adrenaline rushes through my veins, while I repeat all my lines in my head.
-
Like I just woke up in a coffin, finding out I have been buried alive. There is no escape from this now and I can already feel my breathing getting heavy.
-
I feel nothing, like I have an endless hole in my heart that never goes away unless I act. Only acting can fill it up, so I have no problem in walking on the stage even further.
-
I cannot lie, I do feel quite nervous but the stress is survivable. I just fear my mind will fail me in such a fragile moment and I’ll have to improvise.
-
Extremely confident about my abilities and I know I will do amazing. I’ll make everyone, but mostly myself, incredibly proud. That’s what I hope for at least.
-
-
Question of
Best of luck to you. As you continued your ravishing performance, you finally got some short time off stage. What is the first thing you do?
-
I immediately start going over my next lines, there is no time to waste after all.
-
I’m fully convinced I did something wrong while being on stage, so basically spending my whole break overthinking my every move to the point of making my head hurt.
-
I’ll just sit down and drink some water, actually taking a proper break.
-
Touch up my makeup and hair, I need to look flawless when I come on stage again. My beauty is something truly special and unique, I cannot make anyone think otherwise.
-
We’re not even halfway through the play and I can only sit and think about the way I’ll say my favourite line. It almost feels like a fever dream to be able to express it with my deep emotions to such a large amount of people.

Question of
Now now, it’s your time to shine once more. As you perform, why don’t you tell me what do you see when you look at the audience?
-
Everyone left. Did I fail them that badly? Was I not enough to entertain them? I do not understand, I tried my best.
-
I can see a look of anticipation on their faces, waiting eagerly for the twist in the story. I shall deliver them their desired performance!
-
As I look at different faces, I can tell everyone is feeling something else. I see sadness, happiness and this heart eating emptiness.
-
I prefer to not look deep into the eyes of strangers, humans who do not even know the real me, just what I show them on this stage.
-
Interest. All I see is interest. I’m more than glad that I managed to let them focus on me, on my moves, on my words. Most importantly, I want them to remember this night for the rest of their lives.

Question of
The play almost comes to an end. As the final scene comes, what is the faith of your character?
-
Tragic. They died, protecting their loved ones, the dagger landing right in their heart.
-
My character got their happy ending. After a series of quite gory events, they may remember it forever, they may never heal, forever with this everlasting wound on their heart, but they survived. That’s what matters.
-
They disappeared. Not even a single sound came from them, not a single goodbye was said and now they’re gone. Gone forever.
-
They reached their goal, something they were going for since the begging of the play. They are now fulfilled, heart full again.
-
Neutral. I do not believe their ending was good or bad. They did not hurt, but also did not gained peace. I suppose I feel longing for something deeper for them.
